This wine is named after the famous knight of Bayard, the Chevalier Pierre de Bayard who was a French national hero and lived between 1475 and 1524.
The unique feature of this versatile medium bodied red is that it enjoys a shorter maceration period (the time that the skins are left in contact with the grape juice during fermentation), which results in a soft style of wine with only a hint of tannin whilst retaining a vibrant cherry red colour.
Skillfully crafted from three grape varieties, which give the Chevalier its excellent depth of flavour, this wine is one of our most popular and its new presentation certainly does this favourite justice.
